I'm not necessarily calling myself a runner, but today was a first for me....I ran 4.5 miles in a local race called the Drumstick Dash. With very little training, it may have been a little ambitious, but I'm feeling very proud of myself for hanging in there for the whole 4.5 miles (thanks to my last minute running partner, and sis-in-law, Jenni. I even kept a respectable pace (10 min. mile the whole way). What a great way to start this Thanksgiving Day! I might even do it again next year.

Halloween
So Halloween 2009 was a little bit of a bust...Em wasn't feeling so good, so she missed out on all the fun. And that means that one or the other of us parental-types had to miss out too. But we managed to squeeze in a little bit of fun....
First of all....I stared noticing something strange happening to my pumpkins...something was snacking on them....
I took this shot today....some squirrel is sitting pretty fat and satisfied! I'll probably have a pumpkin patch in my front yard next fall....
J wanted to go as Darth Vader this year. On Halloween, he and daddy watched the first 2 episodes to get him into character....
J and I went to a Halloween party while daddy and Em stayed home. J sure showed off his mad dance skills.....

Again, my apologies for not blogging....We've been super busy this late summer/fall. But we're happy to say that we are now mostly settled in our new home and loving it. We've got a great big yard, which the kids love, and a cozy little ranch. I've posted a couple of pictures. We are so happy to be here, closer to Trinity and many of our new friends that we've met at Trinity.
We celebrated Em's 2nd birthday in September. She's getting so big. It's crazy to look at pictures of her from 1 year ago compared to now....
Here she is at her 1st birthday party.....
And now that she's 2.....it's the hair.
J lost his first tooth in September! He was pretty excited and handled it like a champ. The Tooth Fairy gave him $1.
Showing off his gap....it's the one on the bottom. The gap on the top is just the way God made him. :)
Em being cute at her birthday party.....
We got to stay with Gam and Papaw for about 3 weeks after we sold our house and waited for our new house to be available.....we were doing the exact same thing 2 years ago at this time! Maybe it's a new tradition? No. But we had a great time there. Thanks for the hospitality!

Splash Park Fun
We went to one of J's pre-school friend's birthday party at a local splash park. Our previous experiences with splash parks has not been great, but this time J really enjoyed it. He even make a little friend. They never exchanged names, just ran around calling each other Buddy. It was pretty cute and amusing to watch.
