Just call me Forrest...

I'm not necessarily calling myself a runner, but today was a first for me....I ran 4.5 miles in a local race called the Drumstick Dash. With very little training, it may have been a little ambitious, but I'm feeling very proud of myself for hanging in there for the whole 4.5 miles (thanks to my last minute running partner, and sis-in-law, Jenni. I even kept a respectable pace (10 min. mile the whole way). What a great way to start this Thanksgiving Day! I might even do it again next year.

Fall fun!

Why do kids love fallen leaves so much?.....

Happy kids make for a happy fall!

Halloween

So Halloween 2009 was a little bit of a bust...Em wasn't feeling so good, so she missed out on all the fun. And that means that one or the other of us parental-types had to miss out too. But we managed to squeeze in a little bit of fun....

First of all....I stared noticing something strange happening to my pumpkins...something was snacking on them....

I took this shot today....some squirrel is sitting pretty fat and satisfied! I'll probably have a pumpkin patch in my front yard next fall....
J wanted to go as Darth Vader this year. On Halloween, he and daddy watched the first 2 episodes to get him into character....

J and I went to a Halloween party while daddy and Em stayed home. J sure showed off his mad dance skills.....

So, I made Em a kitty cat costume, which she didn't get to wear on Halloween because she's got a cold...but Gam and Papaw came trick or treating the next night...so I got her all dressed...pretty cute.

Diving into her trick or treat goody bag...yummy stuff in there.

Lot's of fun things in J's bag too....
J did get to go out trick or treating with daddy on Halloween, but it seems he's the first trick or treater this neighborhood has seen in years....next year we'll probably have to scope out a nearby, more trick or treat friendly neighborhood....oh well.

Leaves, leaves, leaves....it's Fall...literally!

So, now that we've got mature trees, (which everyone always says they want) we are realizing again why we call it "Fall"...

At least the kids are still at an age when it's fun to help dad with the leaves.

Fill the bag....

Smash it down....Em's gonna use her booty.

Happy Fall!

Make up artist?

That's okay, sis. I always find it hard to get the eye liner just right....
